Worked in governance, metadata, and modelling since 1984, became an expert in most of the tools used, and a thorn in the side of software vendors. Wrote a top-selling book on SAP PowerDesigner, and comparisons of various modelling tools. Constructed a template for developers to follow when creating documentation for Solidatus connectors, based upon an analysis of the steps involved in creating and running connectors, the information needs for those steps, and existing documentation. This was all presented as a Solidatus lineage model; I also used Solidatus to model and analyse the documentation supplied by competitors.

Took ownership, restructured and rewrote the in-app documentation. Became embedded within the software delivery process, not tagged on to the end of it. Worked with the implementation team to define best practices and document the Query Language, and the Training team to design and build e-learning courses. Usability testing. Created governance models for internal use, including a Glossary. Company SME for data modelling and metadata tooling. Wrote product fact sheets and a winning award submission.

Reverse-engineered the PostgreSQL database underlying the USA Spending web site, identified the likely primary and foreign keys for the data of interest, and produced graphical and HTML documentation of that metadata.
