Also editor of the weekly Southland Express community newspaper, managing a team of three reporter and taking editorial decisions over its content Also wrote articles and take photographs for the publication.

Managing a group to aggregate copy and generate story ideas for the website of the English service of the Turkey's national broadcaster. Ensuring copy was edited, up to date and disseminated through various social media channels. Drew content from the television station to be published on the channel's website and distributed through social media .

Wrote breaking news articles, features and investigative pieces. Reported on politics, crime, justice, human interest, education, business, health, social welfare and many other issues. Also provided stills news pictures.

Was part of a three-man team that wrote news reports for one of South Africa's main news websites ie News24.com. Covered a variety of topics, including politics, civil unrest, social issues, crime, health etc. Wrote news pieces as well as investigative features and human interest pieces.

Managed a two-man bureau, firstly in Pretoria and then Durban. Was responsible for all news coverage initally out of the country's capital city and later out of the KwaZulu-Natal province for South Africa's national news agency, which ceased operations on 31 March 2015. Wrote breaking news pieces, general news, features and investigative articles. Wrote on all topics such as politics, crime, justice, health, education and human interest. Employment here ended due to the news agency being closed down.

Provided news pictures on a freelance basis. SapaPics was the photographic section of the national news agency. Many of my pictures syndicated by this news agency ended up being used in various publications across South Africa. SapaPics was closed down when the national news agency, South African Press Association, was closed down.

Was part of a team of five reporters that covered the state's courts, primarily in the Perth area. Also wrote on a number of other topics when required to do so.

Was one of three editors who manned the Asia Desk for Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa, editing copy from dpa's English language correspondents throughout Asia. Was also responsible for translating German news copy from the German correspondents into English. Occasionally wrote feature pieces for dpa.
