The ultimate goal of EcoOcean is to help generating and maintaining a healthy marine environment in the Mediterranean. EcoOcean is looking for scientists and other partners such as environmental NPO´s from around the world.

For its research activities EcoOcean uses the state of the art research vessel, The Mediterranean Explorer. EcoOcean also runs a marine educational center, where students learns about marine ecology and the importance of caring for the Mediterranean sea.
