ARUNAVA CHAUDHURI
 
Arunava Chaudhuri was born and brought-up in Remscheid, Germany and spend five years of his
schooling in the Indian city of Calcutta.
 
Arunava’s tryst with football started in the late 90’s when he founded IndianFootball.Com a premier
football site which is also India’s largest website dedicated to football. Creating a niche for himself as a
sports expert particularly in football, Arunava honed his skills by working in various organizations.
 
As a Co-organiser of the conference on Indian Football & the “Indian Football Supporters’ Club“
convention at the University College Northampton, England Arunava successfully presented a thesis
paper on “Gender and sport in India: aspects of women's football”. He has also worked at the liaison
officer for the Indian national football team on their tours of England in 2000, 2001 and 2002.
 
His love for the game of football drove him to learn the nuances of radio production, doing interviews and
features and he additionally got a chance to have his own radio column during the 2005 FIFA
Confederations Cup for which he interviewed the German football legend Franz Beckenbauer. Arunava
further delved in the communications sector and handled the International Media Relations for the Major
League Futbol (Caribbean League) in 2006. Additionally he was In-Charge of International Media and TV
production for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier between India-Japan in Calcutta, India in September
2004.
 
Amongst others, Arunava has been an expert speaker at FIFA House, the headquarters of world football,
at the “International Football Arena”, in the “Leaders in Football” conference at Chelsea FC, UK India
Business Council conference “Opportunities in the Sports Business in India”, the “Business India Forum”
at Chelsea FC and moderated a panel on emerging markets at Soccerex 2008 in Johannesburg.
He was also part of the Oliver Kahn’s last professional match for Bayern FC during its tour to Calcutta,
India in May 2008.
