What is Performance Management?
Performance management has several different names and acronyms such as corporate performance management (CPM), enterprise performance management (EPM), organizational performance management (OPM), and business process management (BPM). "Business performance management " - is a framework for organizing, automating and analyzing business methodologies, metrics, processes and systems that drive business performance. BPM helps businesses make efficient use of their financial, human, material and other resources." -Wikipedia
The expected result of implementing a performance management system is that everybody in your organization sees the decisions they make in the context of the big picture, and every decision is aligned with company goals and strategy.
What is Business Intelligence?
Business intelligence (BI) refers to technologies, applications and practices for the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information and sometimes to the information itself. The purpose of business intelligence--a term that dates at least to 1958--is to support better business decision making.[1] Thus, BI is also described as a decision support system (DSS).
BI is sometimes used interchangeably with briefing books, report and query tools and executive information systems. In general, business intelligence systems are data-driven DSS.
BI systems provide historical, current, and predictive views of business operations, most often using data that has been gathered into a data warehouse or a data mart and occasionally working from operational data. Software elements support the use of this information by assisting in the extraction, analysis, and reporting of information. Applications tackle sales, production, financial, and many other sources of business data for purposes that include, notably, business performance management. Information may be gathered on comparable companies to produce benchmarks.
What is Information Security Management?
Information security (ISec) describes activities that relate to the protection of information and information infrastructure assets against the risks of loss, misuse, disclosure or damage. Information security management (ISM) describes controls that an organization needs to implement to ensure that it is sensibly managing these risks.
The risks to these assets can be calculated by analysis the following issues:
* Threats to your assets. These are unwanted events that could cause the deliberate or accidental loss, damage or misuse of the assets
* Vulnerabilities. How susceptible your assets are to attack
* Impact. The magnitude of the potential loss or the seriousness of the event.
