About me

Born into the pre-internet-era, Felix Hartmut Beck early on found his interests in analog structures (LEGO, paper airplanes), amplified music (punkrock) and disassembling electroncis. After running the Berlin-Marathon he started to study New Media Design at the University of the Arts Berlin, where he wrote his thesis summa cum laude in the form of a digital pilgrimage. He was renamed by one of Google's early translation services to the more international version »Hardmood«. He is a founding member of the charity organisation Pratham e.V. a non-profit organisation that promotes education of slum dwelling children in India. Parallel to his fulltime job as Art Director at the design studio ART+COM he graduated in February 2011 as Master Scholar (Meisterschüler) under the patronage of Prof. Joachim Sauter. Felix Hardmood Beck lives and works in Berlin, drives his classic Austin Mini Cooper, drinks Yerba Mate and plays tablefussball. He works on (self-) commissioned Design-, (interactive) Architecture- and Media-Art projects. He loves to find non-intentional use for technical equipment and wants to find the limits of technology to then cross those borders and design specific needs from it.
