As a Director of Six Sigma Academy, Ha Dao works with deployment teams to achieve process improvement targets through trainining, consultting and project execution. Mr. Dao trains, coaches and mentors Black Belts, Master Black Belts, and Champions using Lean Six Sigma. He also teaches Lean Principles and leads and facilitates Kaizen events. The teams coached have impacted over $2M per year in savings/cost avoidance. Mr. Dao brings over 25 years of experience of operational excellence and business transformation execution experience to his clients.
Prior to joining Six Sigma Academy, Mr. Dao worked as the Manager, Innovation and Continuous Improvement Methodology (I&CIM) for Delphi Corporation. As a global champion, he provides leadership to deploy Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Shainin Problem Solving for $3B multi-business units globally. He also provides training and coaching to solve complex technical problems. He has lead an enterprise-wide deployment of Lean Six Sigma that resulted in over 1,000 employees trained, over 300 certifications, and over $20M in savings/cost avoidance in three years.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Dao also worked as Master Black Belt and Shainin Red X Master for 7 years with Delphi Corporation and General Motors, where he teaches, trains, and coaches cross-functional teams to solve chronic technical problems. He executed and led teams to solve over 100 projects, which together delivered $11M of direct savings.
Mr. Dao continues to teach and leads organizations to adopt and apply the breakthrough improvement methodologies. His work has earned him the status of worldwide problem solving expert, as evidenced by the following certifications and credentials: Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Shainin Rolling Top 5 Manager, Shainin Red X Master, Shainin Green Y Journeyman, Shainin Red X Reliability Engineer, and ASI Robust Engineering Practitioner. He also holds ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer, and Quality Auditor Certifications. He has a BSME and a MS in Management Science.
In November 2005 Mr. Dao was elected by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Board of Directors as an ASQ Fellow. The ASQ has recognized Mr. Dao as having achieved professional distinction and pre-eminence in the technology, theory, education, application and management of Quality. In March 2007 Mr. Dao received the 2007 Outstanding Engineers and Scientists Award from the 12,000 member Affiliate Societies Council (ASC) of Dayton, Ohio. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding engineers and scientists for their technical contributions to the profession and exemplary service to the community.
Mr. Dao is very active in the professional societies and provides many services to the communities. Ha is currently the Chair of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Dayton Section 0909 in Dayton, Ohio and Chair-Elect of the ASQ Automotive Division. In April 2006, he received the ASQ Testimonial Award for his outstanding leadership and distinguished service to the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
