Heike Philp (43), is founder and CEO of LANCELOT School GmbH (www.lancelotschool.com), a training center for language teachers in the use of state-of-the-art virtual classroom technology. This training enables language teachers to teach languages live online.

LANCELOT stands for LANguage Learning with CErtified Live Online Teachers.

Philp has been running a successful live online language school called let’s talk online since 2002 (www.letstalkonline.com) and in 2004 she co-initiated the European funded LANCELOT project (www.lancelot.at), which laid basis for LANCELOT School GmbH. LANCELOT School GmbH which will become fully operational in September 2007 after the issuing of the European certificate.

In 2008, Philp co-initated another European funded project which is due to start in January 2009, AVALON.

AVALON stands for Access to Virtual and Action learning live ONline.

AVALON has a consortium of 26 European partners (11 of which are Universities) and is a 2-year project to develop scenario based language learning or action based language learning in Second Life (3D Worlds). It has been funded under the Transversal Program, Key Activity 3 ICT.

She is a frequent speaker at the Online Educa, EUROCALL, WIAOC, Learntec and Illinois Online Conference about language learning in virtual classrooms.
