About me
In 1992 Ines Brunn created her first trick bike show as a mixture of artistic cycling on a fixed gear bike and gymnastics beautifully choreographed to music. She performed her trick bike show and amazed audiences in many different countries such as South Africa, Russia, Sri Lanka, USA, China, Malaysia, Hongkong, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Spain. She has performed in outstanding places as: Hilton Hotel (Colombo, Sri Lanka), Carnival City (Johannesburg, South Africa), the European Juggling Convention (in Rotterdam and Spain) or the famous Hansa Varieté Theatre (Hamburg, Germany).
In 2007, fueled by her passion, Ines and a friend initiated the steadily growing community of fixed gear bicyclists in Beijing. Ines founded Natooke - the first fixed gear bike and juggling shop in China. She is importing quality bicycle parts from various countries around the world. The shop is focussed on the communities. We want to build the urban cycling culture as well as the juggling culture in China.
She is advisor of Greening the Beige, an eco-minded arts collective to connect and build synergies between environmental organizations and green individuals in Beijing. Ines aims to build awareness for bicycling in China as a sport, hobby and daily transportation method to help minimize carbon emissions.
With her cycling she has been on TV. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland Ines is known from TV. She won the famous TV show „Wanna Challenge“ (Wetten Dass) by frying a pancake while standing on the handlebars of her bicycle. 15 million people watched and voted for Ines. She was invited by the Belgium TV to do the same thing and won there. She then was invited to make Chinese dumplings standing on her handlebars for the Chinese National TV CCTV3 for their “International Wanna Challenge Show” (想挑战吗) which she again won. An interview about Ines was screened on Singaporean National TV as well as her involvement in promoting cycling in Green Olympics was shown on Chinese CCTV. A thirty minute documentary about her life in China was filmed in 2008 and broadcasted on Tianjin TV in April 2009.
