Jorge Chalela

Among attorney Jorge Chalela’s many skills is his ability to speak and write Spanish fluently, a capability that serves him and his clients quite well when it comes to communication, investigation, and the courtroom. In an effort to keep pertinent details from becoming lost in translation, Jorge Chalela brings together his experience as a defense lawyer with his ability to speak with both English and Spanish-speaking clients in their own languages. Tampa is a city located on the west coast of the state of Florida, and it is the home base for Jorge Chalela’s law practice—Jorge Leon Chalela, Attorneys at Law. Jorge Chalela and his lineup of dear and trusted lawyer friends, which includes Claudia Echeverri-George, M. Gabriela Munoz, James Mancuso, David Chalela, Jerry Theophilopoulos, and Andres Oliveros, take on some of the most complex and emotional cases pertaining to criminal defense, including automobile collisions, personal injuries, homicide, attempted homicide, sexual assault, molestation, and kidnapping.
Prior to starting to practice in Tampa, Florida, Mr. Jorge Chalela was a student at University of Michigan, where he earned his B.A. in 1990. Jorge Chalela then entered the University’s nationally acclaimed law program and received his J.D. in 1993.

On his days away from the office, Jorge Chalela takes pleasure in reading and often reads books penned by famed authors and intellectuals Plato, Friedrich Nietzsche, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Fyodor Dostoevsky. When he is not reading, Jorge Chalela practices karate, long-distance swimming, power weightlifting, and competitive speed chess.
