About me

Possessing decades of managerial experience, Joseph Chairge currently serves as General Manager with Dirlam Brother Lumber, Inc. in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. In this position, Chairge oversees more than 30 employees working at several different locations and additionally handles administrative, marketing, and commodity purchasing duties. As a manager, he has successfully navigated a declining market, maintaining the company’s position as an industry leader. Joseph Chairge previously functioned as the owner and operator of Pittston Lumber and Manufacturing, where he grew sales from $6.5 million to $10 million and significantly expanded the company’s customer base. During his 19-year tenure with the company, he successfully negotiated contracts with Teamsters local 401 and won an ADDY award, which recognizes creative advertising campaigns. Chairge sold the company to Dirlam Brothers Lumber in 2007.

A graduate of King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Joseph Chairge holds a Bachelor of Science in English with a minor in Business. Outside of his professional career, he remains active in his local community. For several terms, he served as the President of the Board for the Pittston YMCA. In addition, Chairge sat on the board of a local building industry association. He has coached girls’ basketball St. Mary’s Assumption School and volunteers with Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Recreationally, Joseph Chairge enjoys hunting and fishing. He also regularly plays golf as a member of the Emanon Country Golf Club and experiments with new cuisines in the kitchen. As a hobby, he makes wine and strives to learn as much about the process as possible, always attempting to improve his final product.
