I have a broad range of interests and skills, earning my living through consulting, training and writing, while continuing to maintain my passion for research.

In all my work, I seek to combine a thorough pragmatism with a rigorous analytical approach. I know how to work to deliver products of business value, as well as operate according to academic requirements. Throughout my career I have amassed a considerable level of knowledge and experience in all aspects of software development.

I was awarded my PhD in computer science in 2009. My principal research area lies within the field of distributed software engineering. In the past my work has concentrated on Free and Open Source software, but has grown to include distributed Agile Methods.
