I started my working life teaching art and drama in the early 70s. Teaching then provided very poor pay and I supplemented my income selling picture frames and artists work to companies such as Heals. I eventually moved into financial services and after a few years of specialsing in commercial finance I became a business development director for a start up financial services company. We innovated around investment services and particularly in the area of mortgages, producing a system that kept clients fully informed of purchase progress every 3 days - boy did we annoy solicitors and lenders but we had a lot of very happy clients. Having built this business in a very short timevwevsold this company to what is now Royal SunAlliance. Both ex employers of mine!
 
Since 1989 I have consulted and provided interim management for a wide variety of organisations and so my CV aprt from consultancy, learning and development work, I can list experiences such as being an acting Head of A Level Economics in a further education college, a medical practice manager, being published on coaching senior management teams and illustrating a book on parenting!
 
My hobby is playing lead guitar, harmonica and percussion in a semi-pro band with our biggest gig so far being at the European Rugby Cup Finals at Twickenham.
