About me

In clicking on this page…….you want to know something about me and instead of telling you how many degrees I might have, how many publications I have written or awards I have won,I would actually like to tell you, what I enjoy doing. Why I enjoy working as Performance coach in the B2B arena. You see, working as a coach might be challenging, but it is really rewarding and it actually is a lot of fun. My work as a coach spans the spectrum of mostly knowledge within Business Model and Business Processes.

However besides the fact of the professional knowledge that I have gained in that area, I have personally learned from coaching 1000 of companies and more than 10.000 people in over 45 countries all over the world, that business performance and thereby value creation is not only a matter of Business Modelling and Process Management, but rather a question of competency development. For in the end of the day, true value creation has something to do with people (not only processes and one can really just enable a remarkable performance improvement in their output and thereby value creation when enabling a companies competencies (which is mainly based on the capabilities (knowhow) of the people. So even though I write books on BPM (Business Process Management) and Business Modelling, actually true business performance and value creation is much more about and interpersonal skills development than companies think. That is why working as a Performance & Developement Coach is great.......for with that, I have had the opportunity to stimulate and strengthen excellent professional and personal development skills and habits that enhance the power, growth and performance of the people I meet. Just as an Olympic athlete works with a coach to win the gold medal, I have had the opportunity to work as performance coach with people to identify their weaknesses, develop their known and unknown strengths/potential, and helped them grow and perform in many different areas. I have learned from this process so much myself, for when you push and challenge a person and their activities (and processes) in every way – and will demand more of them, in order to help them change, improve, grow and perform……you will see remarkable things.

For example, I know that many sales organizations have a small number of peak performers carrying the main responsibility for revenue targets for the entire team or company. Peak performers can be made and they can be modeled, and their skills, attitudes, and habits mentored to new levels and heights. Many of the other team members know that certain things they should do in a better way, but too often they don’t know how - or do not get it done in reality. One thing I really have learned, is that we all work against some barriers that somehow keep us from doing what is within us (living our potential).

In this page, I would like to share what I believe a person must do to get that “action mode” you need to break through self imposed limitations that is holding you back from the power, balance, growth, success and performance that you strive for (living our potential):
1. Overcome self imposed limitations that are holding you back? (this is a process of changing not only your thinking but your activities attached to your mindset as well)
2. Build new levels of self discipline? (building of new main process behaviours)
3. Overcome indecisiveness and uncertainty? (somehow I have found out that this is the weakness cluster of the most people that keeps them from doing that what they could do)
4. Remove the mental and emotional obstacles that are limiting your personal growth, power and thereby performance?
5. Identify your weaknesses?
6. Develop your known and unknown strengths?
7. Explore your limits.
8. Be pushed and challenged to real limits?

I hope some of these thoughts inspired or helped.

Thank you for reading my personal – about me page

Regards Mark
