Hakkımda

Martin is an independent Oracle consultant and technical author. He specialised in the Oracle DBMS in 2001, with his main interests in high availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission critical 24x7 systems. Over the last years he spent more and more time discovering the benefits of virtualisation technologies for Oracle products, mainly by using VMWare ESX Server and Oracle VM/Xen-based virtualisation. Martin has had the pleasure to explore Exadata systems from an infrastructure and performance point of view.

As of December 2008 Martin is a proud member of the Oracle Certified Master community having successfully passed the exam for Database 10g Release 2. From August 2010 he is also an Oracle ACE; with this accreditation Oracle have recognised his contributions to the user community. The greatest honour of all was his apppointment as a member of the Oak Table network. The OakTable network is an internationally renown network for the Oracle scientist, who believes in better ways of administering and developing Oracle based systems.

When not trying to get the best out of the Oracle database for his clients, or working on understanding its internals, Martin can be found presenting at UK Oracle User Group meetings.

In the remaining spare time, Martin contributes to the Oracle Scene and DOAG news, the UK and German Oracle User Group publications as well as the iX magazine which is read by over 50 000 people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Martin hopes to reach out to even more readers by co-authoring "Pro Oracle Database 11g RAC on Linux" together with Steve Shaw.
