About me

A longtime advocate for children’s health, Dr. Max Bulmash supports organizations that work toward mutual goals, such as the New York Pediatric Society, a forum that meets regularly to discuss issues related to the health of children and adolescents. Dr. Max Bulmash also sits on the Medical Advisory Council for the American Board of Ritual Circumcision. This organization develops standards for the bris milah, the ancient rite of circumcision performed on eight-day-old infant males born to Jewish families. A strong interest in such foundational matters of the Jewish community touch on one of Dr. Max Bulmash’s other passions, the study of the Talmud. A large collection of ancient Jewish writings, mostly of a legal character, the Talmud was compiled by rabbis living in the years following the final destruction of the temple of Jerusalem in 70 CE. Much of the material in the Talmud was passed down orally for generations. These writings have formed an essential part of Jewish culture, with scholars such as Dr. Max Bulmash poring over the main text and the accompanying commentaries. Dr. Max Bulmash currently serves as a pediatrician at Kensington Pediatrics in Brooklyn, New York, and also maintains affiliations with several other hospitals in the New York City area.
