Sierra Shoopman

Over the course of her academic career, recent college graduate Sierra Shoopman has upheld a consistent record of scholastic excellence, earning accolades from professors and peers alike for her work. As a student at Capital High School in Olympia, Washington, from 2003 through 2007, Sierra Shoopman took part in the Running Start program, which allowed her to attend courses at South Puget Sound Community College in tandem with her high school coursework. One of the top 10 students in her class at Capital High School, Sierra Shoopman maintained a grade point average of 3.89, won a Washington State Principals’ Award for Academic Excellence, and graduated in 2007 with a diploma and A.A. from South Puget Sound Community College. At the end of this period, Sierra Shoopman moved to Seattle to enroll at the University of Washington, where she continued to add to her exemplary history of academic achievement.

A student at the University of Washington from 2007 through 2011, Sierra Shoopman majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry, building a solid undergraduate foundation in the hard sciences. Owing to her outstanding performance at UW, Sierra Shoopman appeared on the Dean’s list numerous times and won selection to the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization. In addition, Sierra Shoopman served as Assistant Activities Chair and Assistant Philanthropy Chair in the Delta Zeta sorority, Kappa Chapter, in which capacities she provided a high degree of leadership for her house’s community outreach and charitable programs. Sierra Shoopman also enriched her collegiate experience via a summer position as a secretary for Northwest Dental Consultants, Inc. in Olympia and through various career-shadowing activities in the fields of emergency services, optometry, and ophthalmology. At present, Sierra Shoopman lives and works in the Puget Sound region.
