About me

Although he worked temporarily in the construction field, Silvio LoVerde has found continued success in the produce and fine foods industry. In 1990, he and his brother founded Two Brothers Produce, a company that sold fruits and vegetables in New York City to small markets, delis, food service companies, and distributors. Next, Mr. LoVerde ventured into the retail arena with the creation of Circus Fruits Inc in 1997, serving the Brooklyn community. Silvio LoVerde became a larger-scale wholesaler and distributor in 2000 when he established Circus Fruits Wholesale Corp, an enterprise that imported produce from foreign countries and sold these items across the United States.

Silvio LoVerde currently owns and markets products under his Vucceria brand product line, which includes fruits and vegetables, sauces, pasta, baked goods, pizza, and prepared foods. These items are available at his retail gourmet supermarket, Orchard King Corp, which he opened in 2009. Located in the ethnically diverse Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn, the store sells international deli and grocery items, specializing in Italian, Russian and other European products. Orchard King Corp offers customers numerous choices for several products, such as Greek, Macedonian, and French varieties of feta cheese. The selection of other deli products is equally wide, with hams from Russia, Poland, and other parts of Europe. Silvio LoVerde recently expanded his store to include a European-style bakery, where customers may purchase decorated cakes, cookies, pastries, and a wide selection of breads baked on-site.

Silvio LoVerde is a native of Palermo, Italy, where his family has farmed and sold produce for five generations. He values the business training he received in his youth, when he observed the fundamentals of agriculture and produce care. When his father moved the family to the United States because of a faltering Italian economy, Mr. LoVerde learned to overcome a new set of challenges as an immigrant. Learning English and adapting to American customs, Silvio LoVerde established and successfully met goals to continue in the family business.
