Over the course of his legal career, Steven Guynn has offered counsel to an array of companies, including Fusion Capital Limited; Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc.; and Kuwait Investment Authority. He has negotiated mergers and acquisitions, handled debt and equity capital markets transactions, and coordinated cross-border joint ventures. To date, Mr. Guynn’s completed transactions are valued at more than $150 billion.

Steven Guynn facilitated the largest recorded foreign investment in all of Russia when he advised on the negotiations and closing of the $19 billion TNK-BP joint venture, a leading oil and gas exploration and development company. Additionally, he oversaw a $20 billion merger between two major French institutions: Crédit Agricole S.A. and Crédit Lyonnais S.A. Mr. Guynn also handled Kuwait Investment Authority's multi-billion dollar co-investment in the Dow Chemical Company with Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Moreover, his work with Total S.A. of France resulted in the creation of the fourth largest oil group in the world.

Previously, Steven Guynn served as a partner and practice leader in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher for five years. He spent the majority of his career as a partner in Jones Day's New York and London offices. During his 25-year tenure with the firm, he served as a leader of the corporate and international practices and as a member of the firm's governing advisory committee. Admitted to practice law in New York, Ohio, and Utah, Steven Guynn completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Virginia, where he served on the Managing Board and as a Notes Editor of the Virginia Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University. He graduated summa cum laude and as the valedictorian of his class.
