Bora Barcin

Bora started his career in a FMCG multinational company. He served as Purchasing Mgr of Indirect Materials and Services with one direct report. He moved on to the eProcurement area acting as a liaison between IT, Procurement and internal users, leading the roll-out of a procurement tool. He managed to provide record usage rates in a short time on a global level. Later on he was the single point of contact for the eProcurement Tools within direct materials area. Bora also acted as the main representative of Procurement in the global projects jointly led together with Finance Team. With his achievements in increasing the Net Working Capital and Self Invoicing, he received the Financial Excellence Award.

Recently Bora worked for another leading FMCG company for 3.5 years. He was based in the Netherlands and later at the European HQ in Switzerland and worked as Procurement Manager IMS for EMEA. He was responsible for defining the regional strategies for IMS category together with his three direct reports. Prior to this, Bora was Senior Buyer Raw Materials. He defined the European Strategies for the raw materials that are in his responsibility and worked on supplier relations. In fluctuating economies, he managed to deliver significant savings while assuring continuous supply of materials.

He is currently responsible for EMEA Chemical Procurement at Ecolab together with his team, defining the strategies for raw materials. In January 2012 he has been appointed as the Global Category Lead for a number of chemicals.

Bora grew up in Turkey, studied in Ankara and Leipzig and lived in Izmir, Ankara, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Lausanne and now living in Zurich. He’s fluent in Turkish, English, German and understands French and Dutch.

He graduated in Chemical Engineering at Middle East Technical University and holds an MBA from Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
