About me

Jim Webster is a founding Director of http://www.fhios.com, an international customer experience research and design consultancy based in Central London with offices in Brazil and Singapore. For the last 7 years I have had the privelage to work with a truly amazing team, who share a common purpose, passion and set of values. I am also the founder and Managing Director of creative and marketing agency, http://www.heartnewmedia.com/index.html.

I have over 25 years of business management and consultancy experience in Systems Analysis, Digital Strategies and Customer Experience and Insight Research and User Centric Design and have helped guide some of the largest companies and brands in the world with their digital strategies in over 30 countries.

What gives me the greatest job satisfaction is using my experience in creating innovative digital and marketing solutions and strategies that truly engage with client's customers and target audiences and maximizes business efficiencies and revenues. My philosophy recognizes the importance of developing and sustaining long-term client relationships and effectively creating, communicating and delivering value.

On a personal level, I live in Maldon, which is a quaint olde worlde town on the Blackwater estuary situated between Chelmsford and Colchester. If you have never been, I would recommend visiting for a day and see the old Thames barges.

I have a wide range of interests albeit a little more sedate now that cover the simple things in life like reading and listening to music, good food and wine, going to the theatre and leisurely strolls by the river through to more adrenalin fuelled things such as driving fast cars fast - I have driven an F1 Tyrell around Mallory Park on a F1 experience day organised by everymanracing.co.uk - if you like fast cars, you must do this!. I also have a melancholy streak and have been know to give the 78 records a spin on a windup gramaphone. I used to have a passion for winter sports and mountaineering, but I fear those days are fading away as there are so many other demands on my time. So all in all quite an eclectic mix.

I bridge my professional and personal life with participating in various activities such as supporting small local businesses through networking activities, mentoring and supporting less experiences business people and being a member of various clubs and commitees.

I have a penchant for proverbs and sayings. Here are a few motivational quotes that I keepin in mind and would like to share with you - I could have added dozens but have kept it to a few:

"Here is a simple but powerful rule - always give people more than what they expect to get." Nelson Boswell
"Never lose a chance of saying a kind word." William Makepeace Thackeray
"The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers." Ralph Nadar
"Never pass up the opportunity of giving a word of praise or encouragement." Unknown - I think this is one of mine!
"If you do not know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere." Henry Kissinger
"One of the secrets of life is to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks." Jack Penn
"Nurture your people for they are the fruits of your labour." Unknown
"The quality of our work depends on the quality of our people." Unknown
"At some point, you've got to stop dreaming and start doing." Unknown - Maybe mine
"Mistakes are the portals of discovery." James Joyce
"You may be disappointed if you fail but you are doomed if you don't try." Berverley Sills
