An inspiring, resourceful, and well-organized Master Certified Resume Strategist and Career Consultant, Maureen McCann is passionate about communicating the value of business leaders. As a consummate career teacher, coach, and mentor, Maureen works with clients to develop the documents and interview skills required for success. Moreover, as an accomplished sales professional, she understands the power of words in increasing the marketability of a wide range of clients.

Maureen is a strategic thinker and writer who turns challenges into opportunities as she coaches and mentors clients, one-on-one and in groups. She is an expert in forging open and honest communication between clients and colleagues and engendering strong partnerships.

As a testament to her leadership, in 2007, Maureen was honoured by the Career Professionals of Canada (CPC) with the Award of Excellence. This award recognized Maureen’s outstanding achievements in the Canadian careers community, particularly highlighting how her tangible and documented activities produced significant contributions to her clients and the profession. In 2008, her resume writing work has been nominated by Career Professionals of Canada for the Outstanding Canadian Resume Contributor in the Best Career Change Resume category.

Maureen holds the role of membership development advisor for CPC. A highly proactive professional, she instituted and moderates a Tele-Networking program for practitioners across Canada that provides professional development, strategic advice, and support for Canadian resume writers and career consultants.

As a respected leader in the Canadian career industry, Maureen has been a central speaker at Opportunities 2008 “Workforce 2010,” the Ontario-wide conference for the employment community; Women 2.0 in Ottawa; Ottawa Citizen Job Fair 2008; and National Career Event for IT Professionals 2007. Participants and organizers alike enthusiastically receive her presentations, with their messages of empowerment and action.

An advocate of life-long learning, Maureen received her Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University and has continued her education at Algonquin College and Athabasca University, where she is pursuing a post-graduate certificate in Career Development.
