Peter Dudgeon

Peter Dudgeon was born in London and educated in Vienna and Manchester, where he studied biochemistry at Manchester University. He then spent his early career in the City of London as Management Trainee in the Financial Services sector. In 1977, Peter decided to further his career in the recruitment industry and to this end spent some time with leading recruitment consultancies such as Gresham Executive Appointments / Hestair plc and SCR / Specialist Computer Recruitment in London. His focus was on the Financial Services sector and the High Tech industries.

Peter “graduated” to the retained search approach in the early 1980’s and joined a highly specialized, Windsor based search firm, dedicated to supporting the fast-growing software vendors, semiconductor manufacturers and telecommunication service providers. In 1984 this consultancy planned its first international office in Germany. Because of his relevant track-record and his fluency in German, Peter was asked to open this new office and he therefore moved with his family to Munich – where he has established himself as a leading High Tech Search Consultant.

In April 1991, Peter formed his own practice - Peter Dudgeon Consulting, better known as PDC - close to the Munich Airport and with a special focus on the German-speaking countries. Typical search assignments include Senior Management such as General and Country Managers, Sales Directors and Business Development Managers, International Key Account Managers, Technology and Project Management, sometimes resulting in the hiring of whole teams of Key Executives and experienced Engineers, including Technology Specialists. The affinity of the PDC team to the needs of fast-growing, internationally operating, technology-driven companies is well-known and Peter is indeed proud of the fact, that he has helped to establish and grow the German-based operations of some of the leading vendors, IT consultancies and service providers. Long standing client relationships and a high percentage of repeat business confirm Peter’s belief that clients want high quality services and dedicated consultants with specialized industry knowledge, who can add value to their organization and who care about their hiring needs - however big the current skill shortage may be…

Over the last 25 years Peter has integrated completely into the German business culture. He has in the past established many contacts in Germany by being a member of the Cornerstone International Group and the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany, in addition to the Anglo-Bavarian Club Munich and more recently the American-German Business Club (Munich Chapter).

Although the PDC Group is now headquartered in London, Peter continues to support his clients actively as Principal Consultant - Germany, using his experience and skills to help service - together with his team - the whole of the German, Swiss and Austrian region. He provides a solid base for his international partners in this area and also as a coach to those candidates partaking in his career counseling and outplacement services.
