From Jan 2011 to Dec 2011, Managing Director, with general management responsibilities as a member of the Central Europe DHL Supply Chain board leading our business in Switzerland as well as managing the ITG, LLP and ISC business units. My overall responsibility covers more than 1000 staff working in 9 European countries and supporting international supply chain and transportation activities. I have full P&L and commercial business responsibility including customer account management product growth and business development. I report directly to the CEO DHL Supply chain, Central Europe.
2008 to 2010 Vice President, DHL Supply Chain operations excellence. Key role, is to improve our Mainland European transportation operational efficiency and effectiveness. Within this role I have operational matrix management responsibilities in 11 countries managing approximately €xxxm cost of sale. As well as supporting to increase our LLP market share in all DSC sectors and industries, I have additional responsibilities that include, European facing automotive Global sector membership in support of our LLP product strategy. I also head up the DSC Global custom activity within the groups strategic steering committee.
DHL 2006 to 2007
Managing Director DHL Automotive GmbH. As well as the below (Exel 2003 – 2006) area of responsibility, I took on the additional responsibility of managing all Central European business requirements for the automotive sector within DHL Supply Chain. Within this role I had full level accountability for leading all automotive operations, personnel planning and development, business development and growth including product and solution development. Budget setting and customer account management surrounding our service performance, quality of delivery as well as having ultimate responsibility of the companies financial performance. My total area of responsibility covered all German automotive sites and various shared user facilities where I held full commercial and contractual responsibility. I had 6 direct reports who manage my total team of over 1000 employees. My role also covered all Pan-European Lead logistics Partnerships (LLP) and international supply chain (ISC) activity related to our automotive product offering. Responsible and accountable for €xxx million plus revenues.
Exel 2003-2006
Director of European operations, looking after various European and international supply chain businesses. Controlling total cost reductions and service delivery related to all European inbound to manufacturing logistical requirements, including managing and controlling customer freight budgets totalling more than €xxx Million. Managing the entire international supply chain business relating to materials management and flow requirements for Global automotive customers and their suppliers. Directing the entire European based international supply chain team to support worldwide material and information flows. Procuring all core-operational activity and services to deliver first class cost effective solutions for all customers. Developing and establishing the following supply chain solutions:

FX Coughlin 1997-2003
Director of European operations (Geschaeftsfuehrer). Leading and coaching a team of over 130 staff in the operational execution of our total European business activity. Company revenue responsibilities exceeding €xxx million. Project implementation and launch management for all new EU customer solutions. Launching European import and export movement requirements for the entire EU supply base of behalf of our worldwide customer base.
Operationally responsible for a new sequencing centre on behalf of a 1st tier supplier to a major car manufacture. Total European integration responsibilities between both Exel and FX Coughlin logistics due to the acquisition and merger. Accountable for the international supply chain solution as well as all materials management functions while utilising all international transport modes including air, ocean and surface.
TNT 1994-1997
Commercial operations manager Köln-Bonn airport. I was Responsible for the complete commercial movement of goods through a worldwide express delivery solution. Accountable for over 70 staff running a 24-hour express operation, including the implementation of all fall-back programmes and contingency planning, implementation of scanning system for complete freight distribution visibility. Responsible for the import and export of goods to worldwide destinations.

Working as assistant manager to the contract officer in Brueggen. Working for the Royal Air Force on behalf of the Secretary of State for defence in terms of contract procurement. Acting in line with government guidelines and completing and preparing contractual agreements between the local German commercial market and that of the Royal Air Force. Responsible for the purchase of services and goods outside the military’s own supply chain structure.
