Dr. Aaron Ponti

With over 11 years of experience as an image analysis expert and senior software engineer at the Single-Cell Facility (SCF) of the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich, I develop and implement innovative solutions for (microscopy) image processing and analysis, computer vision, machine and deep learning, and data and information management. I use the Python scientific stack and other programming languages and environments to create custom software tools for hardware integration, data acquisition, and data analysis. I collaborate with commercial and academic partners in software tool development and participate in and lead international open-source software projects. I also engage in teaching activities within and outside ETH, offering training and teaching courses on image analysis, scientific programming, and machine learning. My mission is to enable and facilitate biosystems research by providing cutting-edge image analysis platforms and services.
