My role was to guide the technical development of LED luminaires from concept to market introduction. This included: - Translating the product brief and executing the project according to time, budget and quality - Idea- & concept generation, elaboration of the detail design (3D models) and functional prototypes - Design requirements, i.e. specifying the materials, manufacturing and assembly processes - Trend research for innovative HW solutions by meeting suppliers and visiting fairs

My role involved the design & development of Philips’s next generation kitchen appliances. This included the following responsibilities: - Idea- & concept generation, elaboration of detail design (3D models) and functional prototypes - Design requirements, i.e. specifying the materials, manufacturing and assembly processes - Executing test requirements as well as intuitive product usability studies

- Customer-centric research to translate insights into new R&D projects - Set-up of new R&D projects in collaboration with car manufacturers - Presenting the company’s production capabilities (injection moulding, metal forming & CNC) to clients

In the Mercedes innovation lab I was responsible for the following tasks: - Setup & support of the ideation activities / sessions of exterior & interior projects - Bachelor Thesis: Elaboration and execution of innovative lighting concepts on the Mercedes S-Class

Main focus: Systematic approach to the integrated product design process, involving all facets of design engineering (in collaboration with companies like Philips, T-Mobile, Brabantia, Nuon and Teknia)

Main courses: Sketching & 3d programs, material properties, 2d drawings, concept creation, prototype creation & user interaction (ergonomics & coding)
