Initially responsible for preparing installations of StepStone's ETWeb human resources management software for customer demonstrations, gradually taking over development responsibilities. Spent approximately one year developing client customizations and nine months as a core developer. Was responsible for coordinating the activities of the localization/translation department with the core development team and did extensive work adapting the user interface to render correctly in right-to-left languages

Teacher's assistant and tutor for an English course offered to engineering and business students. Responsible for grading students' work and for conducting twice-weekly English conversation classes for approximately twenty students.

Co-teacher on a voluntary basis for an introductory Japanese language course offered in response to student interest. Shared responsibility with PhD candidate Eriko Ogihara for preparing the curriculum and teaching a class of approximately twenty-five students.

Summer internship. Various responsibilities, mostly involved with scripting tasks related to the naval base's migration to a new database system and the development of various clerical tools using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications. Was also tasked with editing and reviewing official materials developed by my department prior to publication.

Four month research trip to study Japanese history.
