My position is principally that of a Research Officer. I undertake research in support of the development of the state mental health services, and develop/maintain a range of electronic systems to further this role.

Chairperson of the Health Sciences Libraries Group, one of the sections of the Library Association of Ireland. Responsible for instigating many major developments within section, such as strategic planning process, e-mail discussion list, annual conference and more

Implemented networked computerised library management system, and undertook region wide training (in the South East of Ireland) in the use of relevant electronic databases. Additionally, undertook in-depth research for health care staff on a variety of issues (medical, management etc)

Was the first professionally qualified Librarian to be employed by the organisation. Developed specialised library from scratch, as well as archival policy and the organisations first website

School Librarian. Managed two libraries in this split site school. Involved pupils in the day to day running of the libraries, and implemented computerised library management system

Supervised a team of seven library assistants, and was responsible for the development/provision of a library service to children and facilitated visits by schools for information skills training

Second School Librarian. Developed in-house database to serve as Library catalogue, encouraged pupil participation in the use of the library, and undertook information skills training in association with teaching staff

Led and supervised a team of ten library assistants engaged in a retrospective computerised cataloguing project. Post involved interviewing, selectiona nd training of team members

Taught English and Religious Studies throughout the School and additionally acted as an assistant boarding master
