Conducting research into information science, focussing on human performance. Thesis written on using arousal feedback to improve information usage & performance. Theory was developed, and statistical & physiological measures (Eyetracking & Heart Rate Variability) were used as a means of gaining insight into information usage and performance. Principal Investigator undertaking applied research into adaptive interfaces (GUI, Touch, Speech, Biometric), and creating compelling proof of concepts. My multidisciplinary approach uses and researches aspects of cognitive (neuro)science, sociology, adaptive systems theory, language & knowledge, user centered design processes, user insight and heuristics, and cultural considerations.

Responsible for leading and creating speech recognition, multimodal (speech and GUI) and voice biometric bid materials, including presentations, project plans, pricing, collateral, RFP responses, etc. to secure contracts within Military and Commercial sectors.

Roles and responsibilities • Customer Project Management of major projects (Capita, LloydsTSB, BBC, BSkyB, Tote, BetDirect) • Client Business & Process Analysis to produce Functional specifications of speech services • Selection & Studio Direction of Voice Talent Project managed the development and launch of one of the largest telephony speech recognition projects in Europe for end clients BSkyB and the BBC, as part of digital switchover.

I led the Speech Intelligibility initiative from a technical & managerial perspective, attended NATO conferences and cooperation with the US National Security Association (NSA). Developed innovative techniques for acoustic event localisation, conducting proofs of concept in the field. • Technical Authority & Project Management in the areas of speech intelligibility and acoustics • Field trials content & planning with UK Navy & Army • First UK Implementation of a US NSA speech coding algorithm
