I use high-intensity lasers to study the effect of powerful light pulses on exotic materials. Activities: Planning and designing experiments - developing, maintaining and aligning complex optical setups/lasers - analysing experimental data mainly using Python - writing peer-reviewed scientific papers and presenting at conferences. Member of IMPRS-UFAST graduate school, elected student representative (2022).

Grade: First class. Combined undergraduate and masters degree in physics. Courses: maths - linear algebra, multi-variate calculus, introductory complex analysis and Fourier transforms. Physics - classical, quantum and statistical physics, solid state physics, relativity (both general and special), optics, fluid mechanics, atomic/subatomic physics and quantum computing/quantum information. Research project: using MATLAB to numerically simulate x-ray scattering experiments.
