Dr. Krish Tangella

The Secretary-Treasurer is a member of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff. The secretary-treasurer oversees that accurate and complete minutes of all Medical Staff and Executive Committee meetings are kept, call Medical Staff meetings on order of the President, attend to all correspondence, keep all financial books of the Medical Staff, report regularly on the status of the Medical Staff finances, and perform such other duties as ordinarily pertain to the office of secretary-treasurer.

I am a board-certified Pathologist with professional experience in both Community and Academic settings. I teach, do research, and perform clinical duties. I manage multiple hospital and out-patient laboratories. I also have medical management experience in hospital, professional organizations, and in outpatient healthcare settings. I am interested in start-up and mature companies, with emphasis on governance in healthcare, biopharma and biotech areas.

Evaluate/monitor adherence to plans/goals, effectiveness of on-going programs, efficient delivery of services; provide inputs to develop strategies; Assure policies, procedures, practices comply with requirements for licensure, accreditation, quality improvement; monitor hospital quality and safety; Foster environment for employment of competent/qualified healthcare staff; establish systemic review; Recommend to CEO the annual operating, capital budget, monitor its adherence, review financial reports

Facilitate to create and maintain, a fully documented quality policy and procedure manual, complete with all forms, form letters and peer review of cases Supervise the Medical Staff Office’s quality activities (except where otherwise arranged), ensuring that policies and procedures are followed Monitor the quality indicators and take appropriate action; Assist the Quality Management Department in certain quality activities as assessed by the Medical Executive Committee

Established an immunochemistry lab and standardization of pathology reporting. Spokesperson during tumor, breast and thoracic conferences. Instituted synoptic pathology reports, aiding in accreditation process. Performed 17,000 surgical pathology, 14,000 cytology gyn (thin prep), 1000 non-gyn and 350 bone marrow cases annually.

Teach second year medical students, clerkship director for Pathology roatation at Provena Covenant Medical center, participate in Clinico-Pathology Conference, teach internal medical residents Clinical pathology, mentor medical students, participate in the administrative committees of College of Medicine, conduct research, serve on the University of Illinois IRB committee.
