Design and Implementation of an UWB Synthesized FMCW Radar for Ind. App. - Obtaining overview of the overall radar system. - Design of radar RF parameters, and assessing performance metrics. - Implementation of a stepped-frequency algorithm on MAX2871: - in C programming language, using STM32F407 microcontroller. - Measurements and analysis: - using GNU Octave.

- Examining the characteristics of the MAX2871 frequency synthesizer. - Contribution to developing a control interface for MAX2871 frequency synthesizer: - Working with STM32F407 microcontroller in C programming language. - GNU Octave instrument control.

- Introduction in fiber-optics, POF and GOF waveguides, and passive and active optical network elements. - Instalation of GOF network for the purpose of the university. - Performing market research on POF optical network elements for the purpose of the lab experiments. - Characterization of the POF network elements. - Evaluating the performance of different types and lengths of POF waveguides in terms of achievable data transmission rates, by using high speed BERT analyzer and sampling osciloscope.
