I transcribe English audio-files and translate/transcribe German audio-files into English.

I responded to emails from people experiencing some form of Clinical Depression and from their relatives and friends.

I was the first point of contact. I dealt with all incoming phone calls, emails, post and delivery. I maintained and updated the Salesforce database. I prepared documents for meetings for colleagues and the CEO.

I translated news from Tibet and China from English into German and published them as press releases on relevant media websites.

This internship was part of the secretarial course I was doing in Germany at the time. I participated in all aspects of the day-to-day running of this busy community employment scheme.

In order to become a civil servant in Germany, one has to be employed by an authority and do a certain amount of hours theoretical study. I was involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the social welfare office from greeting and welcoming clients to effecting social welfare payments.

The Dialog im Dunkeln, or Dialogue In The Dark, is a disability-awareness project where people with a vision impairment guide fully sighted people through fully darkened showrooms with the intention to give them an impression of what it might be like to be blind. I was one of those guides.
