I worked in the commissioning department as lead for the Automation and Instrumentation discipline for the Oyu Tolgoi Underground Project in Mongolia, which is a large underground mining project. The project main Control Systems was from Rockwell (Factory Talk and Studio 5000) and Cisco network switches. Main equipment was a 60 ton skips Hoist to deliver raw material from 1200m underground to surface with a speed of 16m/s, a complex loading system and different safety functions (SIL I and II) involved.

I worked for the commissioning department as lead for the Automation & Instrumentation discipline for the Jorf Lasfar ODI Project in Morocco, which is a huge complex for synthetic fertilizer production based in Sulfur, Amonia and Sulfuric Acid. The project has 4 plants, each one with 3000 instruments and Centrum VP from Yokogawa as DCS. Instrumentation with HART capacities, MCCs communicated with Profibus DP and third party PLC with Modbus.

Detail Engineering and Commissioning of a Greenfield Copper and Molibdenum Open-Pit Mine, with an 117,000 t/d mineral processing plant. Grinding circuit includes one 28 MW SAG Mill and two 22 MW Ball Mills. The project DCS was System 800xA from ABB, it has 8000+ instruments and 1000+ profibus DP nodes. All third party PLC were Allen Bradley integrated to DCS with Modbus TCP. Backbone network switches were OTN and Hirschmann for the redundant network.

I worked for the Process Automation division of ABB. I participated in severals projects for Mining and Water distribution. Develop engineering related to Instrumentation and Automation required for the project (control philosophy, loop diagrams, logic diagrams, control arquitecture, etc). Configuration of Distributed Control Systems (System 800xA), programming, loop tuning, commissioning, testing and start-up.
