Process Development Engineer for alternative substrate manufacturing for OLEDs. Looking into ways to manufacture substrates cheaper by means of additive techniques, i.e. printing of metal nano particle inks or metal ion inks, and sintering or reducing these inks. Process Development Engineer thin film encapsulation. Process development on development scale, specification of operational scale equipment, as well as installation, test runs, and release of process and equipment to Operations.

I workied on solution based processing of pOLED (solid state lighting) and OPV (organic photocells) materials. Application of these inks can be through inkjet printing, gravure and flexo printing, etc. My emphasis is on inkjet printing, where layer formation and drying of the wet layer are of extreme importance for the device performance. Dry layers are 100nm thin and have extremely small thickness variation tolerances.

    Researcher

    Océ Technologies BV

I worked on data analysis of the PAINt nozzle failure detection system for piezo inkjet systems. It is used to predict or observe that a nozzle wil be (or is) failing and the cause for that failure. Next I developed thevacuum nozzle for waste toner removal in a cut sheet printer. I moved back to large format inkjet printing and worked on media handling and medium temperature control. This evolved to being function leader of a follow-up project on glossy prints
