Über mich

Professor at Birzeit University is a co-founder of IEWS, Former Director, and Head of two M.Sc. Programs. Prior to joining Academia in 1997, Dr. Al-Sa`ed has over 15 years of experience as a consultant and project manager for sanitation and environmental projects in Germany. Dr. Al-Sa´ed received 1987 his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from TU Braunschweig University. Dr. Al-Sa`ed aims at closing the gap between academia, practitioner, and civil society, and strives to initiate collaborative engagements to promote social and political change. His geospatial work scope ranges from local to international. His projects include planning, and design of wastewater facilities, nature- & membrane-based systems, water recycling, and energy recovery, pollution prevention, sanitation in developing countries, and engagement initiatives in industrial, and transboundary wastewater. During the last 25 years, he published 9 book chapters, and over 100 papers in refereed journals, and conferences.
