Über mich
I am an astrophysicist at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen and a lecturer for astrophysics at the Faculty of Physics of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. As a supervisor of several PhD, master, and bachelor theses I work with my students to search for (and occasionally find new) planets around other stars, so-called exoplanets. I have an expertise in data science and statistical methods for signal detection. In 2021 I was elected as an Organizing Committee Member of the International Astronomical Union Commission F2 "Exoplanets and the Solar system". I also serve regularly as a reviewer for several NASA programs and as a referee for various science journals. I am married and a father of two. In my spare time I play soccer with my team of the SC Hainberg II.

Research Team Lead
Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research
I am an astrophysicist by education with an expertise in big data analysis and a special interest for planets around other stars. In 2019, I co-developed a new computer software that we used to find a total of 18 new planets outside the solar system. My current position is as a Research Team Lead at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen for the PLATO space mission of ESA. The BILD-Zeitung reported on some of our work: https://bit.ly/BILD-Zeitung-DeutschlandsPlanetenJaeger.
