Conducted Master's Thesis research at the 'Department of Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology'. Learning Aspects: Modelling of CT devices in Monte Carlo simulations (GATE/Geant4), CT image reconstruction (RTK/ITK), Monte Carlo simulation of radiation dosimetry using tetrahedral-mesh geometries (GATE/Geant4). My achievements: Contributed (and tested) a tetrahedral-mesh geometry module to a commonly used Medical Physics Monte Carlo simulation software (GATE, since v8.1).

Alongside studying, 10-20h per week. Tasks: Implemented and tested a custom camera calibration routine (C/C++), Extended a GUI with interactive dialogues for I/O of machine parameters (Qt).

Internship at the DESY ATLAS group ('DESY Summer Student Program'). Tasks: Software data analysis using ROOT (C++-based), implemented machine learning approaches for data classification using Artificial Neural Networks, trained and tested ANN classifier on simulated data of the LHC experiment ATLAS.

Alongside studying, 10-20h per week. Tasks: Software Development for a GNU/Linux-based target system (C), added modules & documentation to the proprietary software suite (version control: SVN), designed an image processing chain and automatic optical inspection (OpenCV), created a higher-level interface for low-level camera driver (C).

Studied Mandarin Chinese at the universities 'Mandarin Training Center' (MTC). First prize at MTC's 'My Chinese at Its Best' competition (beginner level). Passed TOCFL Listening & Reading, Level 2.

English, 120 ECTS. Courses: Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Object-Oriented Programming for Scientific Computing, Fundamentals of Machine Learning. Master's Thesis: "Triangular- and Tetrahedral-Mesh Virtual Patient Geometries in Radiotherapy Monte Carlo Simulations".
