Performing the following duties: legacy mainframe systems maintenance and support including systems analysis, system design, program design, program coding using COBOL (CICS and batch), DB2 SQL (CICS and batch), sequential and VSAM files, MQ Series, JCL, TSO/ISPF and pay program with BDAM file structures, PL/1, Assembler. Using CA-Intertest for debugging. Perform documentation, systems implementation and review, respond to help desk tickets, resolve issues with batch programs off hours.

As a consultant with the Mainframe Measurements Data Collection Group, performed support functions for the group for receiving and consolidating the measurement data using REXX, JCL, DB2, FTP and Tivoli Operations Planning and Control (OPC). Acted as the Quality Analyst for the group, maintaining, reporting and acting on the Quality Metrics for the group to improve the performance of the group, its functions and tools.

As a consultant at Highmark Blue Shield Blue Cross analyzed COBOL programs that access the IMS and DB2 data for the group and subscriber domain as part of a thorough impact analysis to identify all applications that access the data and to find data attributes are utilized throughout the organization. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

As a consultant at Highmark Blueshield (through Computer Aid Inc) analyzed programs that access the IMS and DB2 data for the group and subscriber domain in COBOL programs as part of a thorough impact analysis. The goal was to identify all applications that access the data and to find data attributes are utilized throughout the organization.

Developed automation of the collection of data that the Mainframe Data Collection that the team does for over 250 systems. Provided technical support of the data collection. Did development in REXX, JCL, DB2, ISPF Dialog Management facilities, FTP and Tivoli Operations Planning and Control (OPC) and various IBM Utilities to maintain the current system, develop new automation and provide support.

In the DS8000 System Level Test group, installed Shark microcode, developed and debugged test scenarios, did troubleshooting in the MVS environment, reported test results, executed testing for new product releases and field quality issues. Assisted the development team on DS8000 issues, participated in test execution for all copy services test variations, all z/OS test variations, field recreates, fix verifications on emergency eBuilds/eFixes

As a consultant at the IBM Global Delivery Framework center in East Fishkill in the Account Architecture Integration Services and Data Collection team developed automation of the various data collection that the team does. Did development in REXX, JCL, DB2, ISPF Dialog Management facilities and PL/1 as well as using various IBM Utilities to maintain and develop this automation.

April 2009 – August 2009 CIGNA Bloomfield, Connecticut Remediated code from the recently purchased Healthcare division of Great West Life and Assurance to integrate it into the CIGNA system. This remediation involved the financials for Great West Life and Assurance. Remediated the code, tested it and implemented it in the CIGNA system. Used FileAid, PL/1, JCL, DB2, VSAM, FTP and Panvalet.

May 2008 - November 2008 IBM Poughkeepsie, New York Function Tested new code for a component of the z/OS Operating System using PL/X, REXX, Assembler and various internal tools on both MVS and VM systems. December 2006 -May 2008 IBM Poughkeepsie, New York Provided Level 1 support for the z/OS Operating system and various other software running on z/OS.

November 2006-December 2006 Liberty Mutual Portsmouth, New Hampshire Corrected problems with data in the various customer databases while working in the Data Services area .

December 2005 – July 2006 IBM Poughkeepsie, New York Function Tested new code for a component of the z/OS Operating System using PL/X, REXX, Assembler and various internal tools on both MVS and VM systems. Created a set of variations to be tested and the code and scenarios to do the testing as well as doing the testing.

April 2000 – November 2005 Praxair Danbury, Connecticut Developed, coded and tested new code and fixes to the existing Billing system using PL/1, JCL, DB2 and ISPF Dialog Management facilities for an online and batch based database system. Provided overnight support of batch jobs for the system as needed. Also provided data correction and ad-hoc reports.

November 1997 - January 2000 IBM Southbury, Connecticut Developed, coded and tested code for DB2 and IMS databases. July 1997 - September 1997 Guideposts Pawling, New York Provided development support for a COBOL, CICS and DB2 online and batch customer database. December 1995 - June 1997 Continued previous assignment developing, coding and testing new code for various DB2 and IMS databases.

June 1995 – December 1995 Developed, coded and tested new code for various DB2 and IMS databases. January 1995 - May 1995 Researched, designed and developed changes DB2 and CICS based online and batch database systems. November 1994 - January 1995 Supported an IMS, DB2, and CICS based online and batch database system. May 1993 - October 1994 Developed and maintained an IMS and DB2 based online system.

March 1992 - December 1992 IBM East Fishkill, New York Provided technical support of the FCMS (Floor Control Management System) Database System for the processor fabrication facility. Quickly learned IMS and DB2, SQL and DL/1 to support the database. Modified existing data, as well as determined and helped users follow procedures to relieve problems Wrote new code to fix problems that had been discovered.

As a programmer for IBM, participated in the following projects: Was a member of a team of 3 programmers that designed, coded, tested, and supported an Internal tool to provided Logic Flow diagrams from the source code and comments in PL/S and Assembler programs. Developed code for various components of the MVS Operating System in five different releases of the product. The work involved designing, coding, testing and support of each of the items. Coding was done in PL/S, PL/AS and 370 Assembler.
