Ms. Yanelle Strong-Fischer is a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, an experienced leader within the framework of the Federal Aviation Administration, and a pioneering entrepreneur. Between the years of 1982 and 2001, Yanelle Strong-Fischer steadily ascended ranks of increasing responsibility by earning the respect of her peers and superiors within the agencies and departments of the United States Department of Transportation, the United States Air Force, and the Department of Defense’ Department of the Navy.
 
Yanelle Strong-Fischer entered the Federal Aviation Association as an Electronics Technician GS-12, and over the course of her work with the Federal Aviation Administration, Yanelle Strong-Fischer earned several awards. These awards include numerous Letters of Commendation, a number of Special and Superior Achievement Awards, the ARA Award for Business Excellence, and the FAA Administrator’s Award for Superior Performance. Ms. Strong-Fischer’s skills in administration, leadership, and superior performance have been well developed throughout her career with the United States Government.
 
When Yanelle Strong-Fischer exited the FAA to start her own business, she left equipped with an extensive skill set that helped the budding entrepreneur achieve great success in her business career as she had as a member of the Armed Forces and within the Federal Aviation Association. Yanelle Strong-Fischer founded Salon D’Elegance Plus in Great Falls, Virginia in 2006 and served as the salon’s sole owner and President until 2008, when she sold the establishment for a profit.
 
Salon D’Elegance Plus was modeled after D’Elegance Plus, a women’s plus-sized clothing boutique in Los Angeles, California, and Strong-Fischer extended the business model to include both high-end luxuries, like marble floors and crystal chandeliers, and utilitarian amenities, such as complementary wireless internet and in-house laptops, espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos. Yanelle Strong-Fischer’s Salon D’Elegance Plus was so well received in Great Falls, Virginia, one of the nation’s most affluent communities, that it was mentioned three times in Washingtonian Magazine as a celebrated beauty salon of note in 2007.
