Zeynep Akata is a post doctoral fellow at the MPII and the 2014 recipient of the Lise-Meitner Award Fellowship. Her research focuses on machine learning and computer vision, specifically zero-shot and few-shots learning methods for large-scale and fine-grained image classification: methods that are able to process large amounts of data and are able to distinguish fine differences between similar object classes, while learning from few or no instances of a class.
