Über mich
My core expertise is connecting the dots. Usually, some of the dots are business needs, others are capabilities/potential partners, still other dots are ideas in development. What emerges is a sketch of synergies - connecting the right dots to create the "unfair advantage" that forms the basis for creating not just real value, but a kind of it that has not existed before. In other words: Integrating business and research trends perceived as unconnected by others, and then launching projects to capitalise on that.
The topics most dear to my heart concern fundamental changes in the way we work, think, and create the future. I have quite a bit of experience in knowledge management on the personal, the organisational and the regional level, having conducted projects across a range of industries. Interested in new technologies and their applications, I am also the author of a book on the processes and technologies enabling knowledge management. My focus is on strategies leveraging both people and tools and on creating environments in which innovation flourishes. I am particularly interested in thinking support tools and in high-impact decision making processes.
The common thread of my endeavours is the quest for better ways to cope with complexity. In particular, instead of just reducing complexity, I prefer to increase our capacity for dealing with complexity.
Working at the strategic level with teams drawn from various backgrounds, I strongly believe in the value of different perspectives and in the value of integrating these perspectives without losing important distinctions in the process. This is the crucial step from mere interdisciplinarity to true transdisciplinarity.
I am currently building a new company, Xohana.
For consumers and businesses who want to buy relatively complex non-standardized products or products lacking transparency, Xohana is a new kind of marketplace that provides a more efficient way of getting exactly what they need. Unlike comparison shopping services or other currently available platforms, Xohana does not require buyers to know or research which product fits their needs, nor are buyers restricted in their freedom to articulate their individual needs, while still being supported by an intelligent structured approach.
For businesses who sell customizable products, Xohana is a sales lead generator and a market research tool that saves costs and enables better capacity planning and product innovation. Unlike current online sales channels, Xohana offers superior lead conversion rates and deeper market insights.
