• Established and led the research group Micromechanics of Large Deformations • Focussed on developing a solution for mechanical properties prediction and microstructure design using a micromechanical modelling approach • Supervised master theses from the Master of Science programmes Materials Science and Simulation (MSS) and Computational Engineering (CompEng) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum

• Headed the team to develop a platform to generate artificial microstructure models • Managed an industrial project to investigate the influence of galvanneal coating on the fracture properties of the dual phase steels • Lectured on the methods to construct representative volume elements (RVE) and gave the exercise lass of modelling of failure.

• Reviewed available damage mechanics models and numerical simulations with the implementation of selected damage mechanic models • Calculated requested equilibrium thermodynamic properties using Thermo-Calc.

• Conducted and evaluated the numerical simulation of several fracture mechanic tests • Instructed other student assistants on how to perform numerical simulation.
