The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements. They must possess strong time management and analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid communication abilities. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Strong technology skills are critical, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations
- Assisting with the month end close processes
- Maintaining documentation for accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury functions
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Preparing weekly cash projections
- Performing semi-weekly cash counts
- Scheduling orders for change and managing the distribution to our retail stores.
- Assisting with monthly credit card reconciliations
- Assisting the controller and other members of the accounting team as needed

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) or 5-7 years of equivalent job-related experience in Accounting, Finance, or related Business Degree.
- Strong Excel Skills necessary.
- Experience with high-end accounting software (non-QuickBooks systems).
