You will develop principles and concepts for integrative approaches to maintain and strengthen functional biodiversity in forests.

Your tasks

• establishment and leading of a working group "Functional Biodiversity in Forest Ecosystems” aiming to develop concepts and defense mechanisms against diseases and pests;
• coordination and establishment of relevant national and international networks;
• preparation of statistics, statements, reports and publications on climate-related reactions of forest ecosystems
• supporting policy advice and representation in advisory committees;
• acquisition and scientific management of third-party funding.

You have

• completed academic university degree in biology, forestry, forest ecology, landscape ecology or similar, preferably with a doctorate;
• experience in conception, implementation and evaluation of experiments and monitoring systems in forest ecosystems;
• outstanding communication, teamworking and organizational skills,
• ability to work independently and autonomously;
• very good written and spoken German and English;
• ideally a class III (B) driver’s license;
• willingness to undertake (international) business trips lasting several days.
