Project: Computer Vision in Manufacturing Environment • Further developed Flask application for an RTSP stream. • Worked on neural network to classify video images for detecting types of production errors. • Developed scripts to extract frames from video material & test the model inference to better diagnose misclassified data.

• Sought to improve reconstruction of cosmic-ray events where one or more surface detector stations had photo-multipliers which saturated. • Gained familiarity with and regularly used C++and ROOT for performing analyses of the data. • Implemented software changes (C++) as discussed with international colleagues in the surface detector performance task.

• Developed a week-long course, utilizing Mathematica and Python, to introduce programming concepts and advanced methods necessary for success in physics upperclassmen courses. • Selected co-instructors and worked with them on their teaching materials (presentation, coding examples and exercises, and extra practice work for students). • Organized teaching assistants to help students during hands-on, hour-long coding exercises. • Proposed and received approval and monetary funds from physics faculty.

• Designed and manufactured 10+ 3-D printers (plastic extrusion) for use in the physics department. • Instructed 50 students in summer introductory machine shop course that spanned six weeks. Taught how to design parts, perform machining tasks (e.g. lathing, milling, sawing, etc.), and ensure safe practices. Students worked on parts for the 3-D printers (e.g. aluminum extrusion for casing, rollers for printer carriage movement, etc.) and assembling.

• Designed and manufactured parts critical to research in optics, vacuum systems, electronics, and renewable energy. • Worked with lathes, mills, CNCs, drill presses, vertical band saws, welding, and much more. • Created schematics in SolidWorks and CNC code with BobCad and g-code commands. • Experience in machining aluminum, various plastics, and more materials. • Example projects worked on: force-balances, Jacob's ladder, aluminum tubes for nuclear physics detectors (i.e. the hedgehog).
