• Serve as one of the top 15 contributors to development of the most important C++ library for biomedical image processing. • Oversaw refactoring the level set framework in ITKv4, improving documentation, integrating new tools and tracking validation framework. • Awarded $600k contract by the National Institutes of Health and worked as technical leader of development team. • Led team in microscope image analysis and discrete geometry components.

• Modernized development processes and infrastructure to match IEC 62304 standards for regulated medical device software development. • Improved productivity of hip/knee implant design processes by developing novel software (DICOM, 3D CT Scan, CAD). • Led the development of a new generation 3D planning engine for HIP-PLAN® and KNEE-PLAN® software. • Oversaw software and development and contributed to software certification.

• Oversaw Research & Development group for start-up company providing creative solutions to computer vision problems. • Managed, hired and mentored a team of 5 R&D engineers in Lausanne, Bern and Barcelona. • Improved timing and accuracy performance and delivered on time. • Contributed to writing grant proposals (CTI, EU Projects).

• Led the development of a large-scale C++ cross-platform for visualization and analysis of large 3D time-lapse confocal microscope image data sets, coordinating with customers and end users (biologists) throughout the project. • Delivered regular software releases on time, participating in design and leading development. • Supervised research in image analysis in the lab regarding cell segmentation and tracking. • Managed team of three R&D engineers, a research fellow and multiple interns.
