LabVIEW Software Engineer (m/f/d)
We are looking for an exceptionally motivated LabVIEW Software Engineer (f/m/d) to join our special-projects rocketry team. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be owning all aspects of the software lifecycle for our ground systems and flight vehicle: from initial design, development and testing, to deployment and support of test and launch campaigns. Your Tasks
- Develop
highly robust, efficient and scalable LabVIEW applications of bespoke
test, embedded and distributed control systems on Windows, Real Time Linux
and FPGA layers, as well as optimization and maintenance of existing
systems.
Interface with engineers to produce and fulfill test system specifications, provide software support during test and launch campaigns - Selection, testing and validation of data acquisition and control system hardware
- Write tools to automate software analysis, testing and verification using CI/CD and on our Hardware in The Loop (HIL) test bed
- Develop and maintain I&C systems involving sensors, actuators, transducers, and various industrial interfaces
- Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers on cabined design and to interface LabVIEW with Beckhoff EtherCAT I/O modules
Your Qualifications
- Degree in software, robotics or electronic engineering and/or related discipline. A higher degree is considered advantageous
- Strong experience in programming large scale applications using National Instruments LabVIEW on Windows, Real-time and FPGA platforms like cRio, cDaq, sbRio, etc.
- Familiarity with Real Time Linux and the Linux network stack as well as network protocols such as Ethernet, UDP, TCP, EtherCAT and CanBus
- Knowledge of Python or C/C++ programming languages
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams and experience in control cabinet wiring ensuring compliance with design and relevant safety standards
- Experience in performance profiling and optimization of time critical LabVIEW applications running on real-time targets.
- Strong lateral thinking skills, high social intelligence, and the ability to solve problems independently and as part of a team
- Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English)
