The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, W. G. Kerckhoff Institute, Bad Nauheim, Research Group Dr. Pieterjan Dierickx is seeking, at the earliest possible date, a Technical Assistant (f/m/d) (E6 TVöd Bund, Full Time) Reference No. 2025_19 . The position is initially for 2 years, but can be extended.

The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim is one of the leading research institutes in the field of biomedical research with a focus on cell biology, stem cell research and pharmacology. The institute comprises three departments, several independent research groups and central scientific service groups. A total of approximately 380 people are currently employed.

Your responsibilities

• Molecular analysis such as RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, Western blotting and genotyping PCR
• Culturing cells in vitro
• Assisting in animal protocol writing
• Handling and examination of animals (mice)
• Preparation and execution of measurements on mice
• Archiving, assignment and evaluation of measurement data
• Organization of the daily laboratory routine

Your qualifications

• You have successfully completed training as a BTA / CTA / MTA / biology laboratory technician (f/m/d)
• You ideally have first work experience in the field of molecular biology
• Willingness to work on animal models, ideally with previous experience
• Willing to work in an international team
• Good communication skills in English
• Proficient in German
