Job Offer from October 16, 2025The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, W. G. Kerckhoff Institute, Bad Nauheim, Research Group Dr. Pieterjan Dierickx is seeking, at the earliest possible date, a Technical Assistant (f/m/d) (E6 TVöd Bund, Full Time) Reference No. 2025_19 . The position is initially for 2 years, but can be extended.
The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim is one of the leading research institutes in the field of biomedical research with a focus on cell biology, stem cell research and pharmacology. The institute comprises three departments, several independent research groups and central scientific service groups. A total of approximately 380 people are currently employed.
Your responsibilities
- Molecular analysis such as RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, Western blotting and genotyping PCR
- Culturing cells in vitro
- Assisting in animal protocol writing
- Handling and examination of animals (mice)
- Preparation and execution of measurements on mice
- Archiving, assignment and evaluation of measurement data
- Organization of the daily laboratory routine
Your qualifications
- You have successfully completed training as a BTA / CTA / MTA / biology laboratory technician (f/m/d)
- You ideally have first work experience in the field of molecular biology
- Willingness to work on animal models, ideally with previous experience
- Willing to work in an international team
- Good communication skills in English
- Proficient in German
