As a design engineer in mechanical and plant engineering – comparable to a CAD design engineer or development engineer – you will develop and design sophisticated piston and diaphragm compressors for industrial applications at Mehrer. You will create and optimise 3D models and technical drawings and accompany projects from the initial idea to the finished solution.
Mehrer develops and manufactures industrial compressors in Balingen for customers in industry and energy technology worldwide. As a mechanical design engineer, you will work closely with project management, production and sales, design assemblies, coordinate technical details and actively contribute your expertise to the further development of our systems.
Your responsibilities as a
design engineer (m/f/d)
- You will be responsible for CAD design in plant engineering and will implement technical specifications precisely and in a practical manner
- With your technical understanding, you will design components and select suitable components for the respective application
- Regularly maintain master data and articles to guarantee a consistent, accurate, and up-to-date product structure
- You play an active role in maintaining and evolving our products – driving innovation for smarter, more efficient, and future-ready solutions
- In project planning, your expertise is applied strategically to create solid technical foundations
Your profile
- You hold a degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field
- You have several years of professional experience in design engineering – ideally in mechanical or plant engineering or in the petrochemical industry
- Strong knowledge of technical mechanics and materials science is one of your key strengths
- Proficiency in SolidWorks combined with foundational knowledge of ERP and PDM systems completes your profile
- You possess a strong understanding of machinery directives and applicable technical standards
- You work in a structured and independent manner, with strong technical expertise in compressors and control systems
